Starting in April, the Aussie Juniors Program will run weekly online training and games every Sunday evening, and we’re looking for a few good humans to herd the cats.
Each Sunday session usually has three parts:
Pre-game expert chat – discussion of a quiz and ideas (30–45 minutes)
A Real Bridge game
Post-game analysis with the expert
Time commitment:
Session times: Sundays 6.00pm–8.45pm AEDT/AEST(availability from 5.30pm–9.30pm is needed for facilitators so the tech gremlins can be wrangled before and after).
Your noble duties may include:
Opening the MS Teams meeting for the expert session
Pressing the record button for the expert chat
Setting up and directing the RealBridge game
Starting the post-game analysis meeting
Uploading the recording to Dropbox/Drive
Being contactable by phone during the session (and happy for players/experts to have your details if needed)
Sending out hand records and other bits after the game
Ideal attributes
Reliable internet
Comfort with basic tech
An interest in developing directing or tournament administration skills
A calm attitude when the occasional digital kitten climbs the curtains
A $50 per session honorarium is available but you can choose to gallantly waive it and good karma IMPs will certainly fly your way.
Mostly, we’re looking for people who are keen to support junior bridge and help create a fun learning environment. Training can absolutely be provided.
